In Brief
Graduated from the Nicolae Grigorescu Academy of Art in Bucharest, Irina Biatturi has been immersed in painting from a very young age. After living in several countries, including Mexico and New Zealand, she now lives and works in Antibes.
Her oil paintings, centered on women and sensuality, are inspired by Art Deco and Art Nouveau, as well as the compositions of the Italian Renaissance masters.
Her canvases evoke peace and tranquility, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the glamorous and enchanting atmosphere of the Roaring Twenties on the French Riviera.

Childhood
From a young age, she immersed herself in the world of brushes, canvases, and easels. In Romania, her native country, the choice of her studies was an obvious one. She dedicated seven years to Fine Arts, followed by five years at the Bucharest Academy of Fine Arts.
Her life then became a journey of discovery. She traveled the world, notably settling for a time in Mexico, where she absorbed the essence of the place.
Contemporary Works Inspired by the Sea
Unsurprisingly, Irina Biatturi’s contemporary works are filled with maritime landscapes. Sometimes the sea takes center stage, while other times it blends harmoniously as one of the composition’s elements. The artist boldly captures all the strength that defines it.

The Passion for Colors and Contrasts
Her painting embraces colors with passion. Whether vibrant or pastel, they allow her to capture an atmosphere and convey the emotion she perceives. Shadows and light are also at the heart of her work. Reproducing the contrasts that captivate her is one of her main priorities. This plays a key role in giving such intensity to her contemporary pieces.
An Ode to Women
Her latest series, dedicated to the celebration of women, is characterized by great attention to detail, as well as a precise technique and a romantic sensitivity that add an extra dimension to her works. Her women echo the glamour of the 1920s and the Art Deco era. They are adorned with elaborate hairstyles, vintage swimsuits, and period hats.
Imbued with elegance and sophistication, their poses are graceful, and their faces are delicate and refined. Here, Irina Biatturi creates an ode to women, to mothers, and, of course, to the sea.
